platform based application designs and implementations, and how to
fully utilize the clustered environment to improve performance,
scalability and availability.

Topic Outline:
This session covers the advantages, pitfalls, and best practices
for clustered applications based on the Java2 Platform, Enterprise
Edition (J2EE) to achieve loadbalancing and failover for both the
Web (servlets and pages created with the JavaServer PagesTM
technology ("JSP pages") and the Enterpris JavaBeansTM (EJBTM)
technology-enabled tier. Other dimensions of clustered applications
such as high availability and state replication are also discussed.

Bio of the Speaker:
Mr. Ashok Banerjee is a senior engineer working on Java
technology/CORBA and distributed computing for Oralce Java 2
Platform, Enterprise Edition (J2EE) based container in 9iAS.
Mr. Banerjee is also the lead engineer for Oracle 9i cluster
solutions. Prior to his 4 -year experiences at Oracle, he worked
for IBM for 2years on Java technology and distributed computing.
He frequently represents Oracle presenting at conferences, such as
Oracle OpenWorld, Orac le iDevelop and JavaOne. He is also teaching
at San Jose State University.
Mr. Banerjee obtained his undergraduate degree from Indian
Institute of Technology in 1996 and master degree in EE from Univ.
of North Carolina, Charlotte in 1998.
He is an active member of Toastmaster International and US Mensa.
